Busy parents are invited to bring their children to Christmas for Kids at Christ Lutheran Church (on Clarksville Pike/Rte. 108, just south of Guilford Road near Route 32) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, on Saturday, December 16. This program is a free program open to children age four up through the 6th grade, no matter their background or affiliation, and parents are welcome to sign in and then pick up their children after the program. Hear the News the Angels Bring!, this year’s program, focuses on the “good news of great joy … for all people” (Luke 2:10) that is the Christmas message, so that children understand the importance of the holiday and what it all means. At a time when children tend to look forward to getting toys and games, this year’s program will help children look forward to Jesus’ coming to give them what is most important. The event will include the Christmas story, music, special crafts, and a snack — and fun! Due to space limitations, and also to ensure that we can contact you if we need to cancel the event due to winter weather, pre-registration is requested. To register a child, please visit the church web site — www.christlutheran.net — or call Audrey at (410) 730-5209 (Christmas for Kids registration only). Interested parents may also call the church office at (301) 854-2100 or email office@christlutheran.net for more information.

  • Richard Works

The members of First Baptist Rockville present "Christmas Comes to Detroit Louie" - a fun and inspiring dramatic presentation. "In this rest home-clinic setting on Christmas Eve, a group of people are waiting to see the doctor. Among them are Detroit Louie, the hard-hearted pickpocket; Harry, his dumb, but loyal right-hand man; John and Cara, who have just brought their father to be committed permanently and the Old Man, who refuses to believe his son would do such a thing. Also present are Mrs. Aiken, the hypochondriac, and the Blind Girl, who believes strongly in helping others; and an Angel, who is on probation. She must make this mission count in order to get her wings back. She has permission to grant just one wish in this particular room and it is a very hard decision."
